Shooting Sports
4-H Shooting Sports teaches youth safe and responsible handling of firearms and archery equipment while building marksmanship and outdoor skills. Members learn safety, discipline, and respect for the environment through hands-on instruction in areas like rifle, shotgun, archery, and more. The program also emphasizes personal growth, leadership, and sportsmanship.

Pathfinders
Pathfinders
The Pathfinders group brings together youth interested in exploring 4-H Natural Resources projects through shared, hands-on experiences. Members help choose what they want to learn and may explore topics such as fishing, wildlife, primitive camping, outdoor survival, water filtration and conservation, fire building, campfire cooking, hiking, and more. Activities are designed to introduce youth to a variety of skills and interests, with opportunities for members to branch off into smaller groups to pursue specific activities together.
Pathfinders is a Heart of Denton project group that supports youth participating in a variety of 4-H Natural Resources projects rather than a standalone 4-H project.

Herpetology
Herpetology
The Herpetology project gives youth the opportunity to explore the fascinating world of reptiles and amphibians. Members learn about snakes, turtles, lizards, frogs, salamanders, and other species while studying their habitats, behaviors, adaptations, identification, and role in the environment. The project encourages responsible wildlife stewardship, observation skills, and a greater appreciation for reptiles and amphibians.
Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM from September through May at the Lake Dallas Public Library, 302 S. Shady Shores Drive, Lake Dallas, TX 75065. The club is open to reptile and amphibian enthusiasts ages 8 and older.
